Tough test for Flyers starts good, ends bad...

Fife Flyers had a hard weekend vs 1st and 2nd in the league for two intense games of hockey. On Saturday, the Flyers traveled to face in form Dundee stars then Sunday, they came home to face league leaders, Belfast Giants. The Belfast match report was in a different post, (scroll down the home page to find it) but here is the trip to Dundee report as they faced the stars!

Flyers amaze Stars in close win...

It was a huge game for the Fife Flyers last Saturday when they traveled to face second placed Dundee Stars. It was a great game which saw Stars on the board first with top scorer in the league Nicco Sacchetti firing in at 3:41 but just NINE seconds later, Steve Gunn made it level in an instant! However, later on, Nikita Kashirsky put the hosts back in front to give stars the lead at break one! Surprisingly. that was Dundees last goal of the game. Quickly, in period two, Danny Stewart tied the game again which was the only goal of period two. A vital final session was to come and it was Matt Reber to score a very late winner at 55:33 and Jordan Fulton scored again to secure a stunning and unexpected win.
Stats:
Shots on goal: Stars (On Kevin Regan) 17; Flyers(On Dan Bakala) 33
Attendance: 1655
Referee: Neil Wilson; Linesmen: Gregor Mizen and Ally Flockhart
