Clan dominate Flyers in double header showdown...

Last weekend Braehead Clan and Fife Flyers met twice, in each others arenas. Saturday in Braehead, Sunday in Fife.

Clan revenge early serge from Flyers for one amazing hockey game...

Part one of this double battle started in Glasgow and both teams played their hearts out. Flyers came with power and it took only 47 seconds for Josh Fulton to smack it past Kyle Jones and put Flyers on the board early. Then on a power play at 6:22 new boy Kyle Haines fired home to have Flyers cruising and in control until two minutes later when Clan got back in the game. Former Sheffield Steeler Lee Esders finding the net to make it a one goal game.

It stayed that way until the second period at 27:05 as Ed Mcgrane tied it, to make this anyone's game then Neil Trimm completed this mini comeback at 36:17 to now have clan 3-2 up. However, Flyers fought back not wanting to have the embarrassment of being come backed and just 59 seconds after Trimms goal, Tim Hartung put the game back level and evened up! Flyers were now rising but Clan were bigger at this point when Clan newbie Joe Cullen scored a great goal to have a second period lead for Clan. Big things were set to come in the third though.

At 45:14, Shane Lust turned the game around. What started at Flyers lead, became Clans dominance now. 5-3. Then, salt was rubbed into the wound at 56:12 when Joe Cullen inched it past Blair Daly in goal for Flyers in the place of Kevin Regan. Clan had the comebacked sealed but Flyers made it 6-4 with over 10 minutes left and possibly a chance of Flyers finishing what they started but when Daly was pulled in the dying minutes, Tristian Harper deked his way into the empty to secure a hectic but entertaining win with a few fights squeezed in too! Final score Braehead Clan 7-4 Fife Flyers
Stats:
Shots on goal: Clan (On Blair Daly) 27; Flyers (On Kyle Jones) 20
Attendance: 2355

Clan defense says no, offense says yes, to win double battle with Flyers...

Clan and Flyers met yet again but this time Fife had home advantage. They were looking for revenge but things weren't going the way they planned. Ed Mcgrange scored 3:55 in then not long after at 5:28 Kevin Bergin doubled clans lead to have them racing.

Matt Towe scored the only goal of second at 31:48 to have it all Clan and the previous nights win was giving them a huge boost!

The final period was again sealed off by Ed Mcgrange to have Clan win both games of the double header and dominate Flyers including another shut-out for Kyle Jones to add to this collection. Final score Fife Flyers 0-4 Braehead Clan.
