Roller coaster ride for Giants in a battle of a weekend...

Belfast giants weekend in Scotland turned out with shocking results in explosive games!

Caps turn on the heat in big win vs Giants...

Giants went to the Scottish capital knowing caps would be pumping after breaking their 10 game loosing run last week stunning Nottingham panthers 7-6 in overtime. They were right. Caps piled on the pressure from the off and didn't stop! Despite Evan Cheverie opening the scoring for Giants caps got level late on in the first period through Jade Portwood. That was the score at the first break setting up a big second period which didn't disappoint. Tomas Horna put Caps 2-1 up but it was Evan Cheverie again who leveled things up at 25:00 and then 42 seconds later, he completed his hat-trick to put giants 3-2 up and it was all smiles for Belfast but caps put a halt to that with 55 seconds left in the second when Peter Holecko fired home. The third period was going to be a big one! But what looked to be a giants win was turned around in the third, with two goals from Richard Hartmann saw a fantastic win for the home team! Edinburgh capitals 5-3 Belfast giants!
Stats:
Shots on goal: Capitals (On Stephen Murphy) 17; Giants(on Tomas Hiladvlosky) 33
Attendance: 682
Man of the match: Giants: Robbie Sandrock; Caps: Richard Hartmann

Big bounce back by Giants sees Flyers falling...

Fife flyers went into this game with a tough test on home ice against a Belfast Giants side who were looking to bounce back from their defeat in Edinburgh the previous night. Giants hit hard and it took them just 10 seconds to score as newbie Cody Brookwell scored quickly and that was the only goal of the first session!  Kevin Suarette made it two at 7:37 into the second which started off some great Giants play. Just over a minute later Dustin Whitecotton made it 3-0 followed by Colin Shields making it 4-0 late on in the second!
Into the third, and it was again Suarette who made it 5-0 at 56:16 . That secured a fantastic giants win but Flyers broke the shut out in the final minute with both Giants goalies trying to share the shut out. Murphy hadn't conceded but Andrew Dickson who'd taken his place in the final few minutes did to leave him gutted but giants still took the point and a fabulous win! Final score: Flyers 1-5 Giants
Stats:
Shots on goal: Flyers(On Murphy) 26 (On Andrew Dickson) 2; Giants (On Kevin Regan) 22 (On Blair Daly) 9
Attendance: 1232
Referee: Alan Craig Linesmen: Gordon Pirry and Gregor Mizen
