The league gets into full swing tonight

The EIHL starts for most teams tonight. Three games are on, including our feature game: Cardiff Devils vs Hull Stingrays. It will be the first time Rays have played an Elite league side, as they were facing lower side, Peterborough Phantoms from the EPL. However, Devils have faced quiet a few Elite league teams so will have more experienced going into this one, making them strong favourites.

The Welsh side have a great team and are ready, having faced EIHL teams already, like we said, so they have a head start. Stingrays had it pretty easy but lost one game against the Phantoms 6-3, which doesn't make them look great, so Devils may just ease to victory. Still, it was only pre-season, which is only really training. Stingrays may be a championship side. Pre-season, you take it easy, they could be a Nottingham Panthers or Belfast Giants for all we know. Maybe they were testing strategies. Isn't that one of the reasons pre-season happens? Of course, there's also getting to know your teammates, which Devils have had more time to do. I predict a 4-1 win for the Devils. 7pm F/O

Another big game, is Belfast Giants against Braehead Clan. Giants have a head start more than any team. Having won 4-1 against Dundee last night, they have an advantage. But there is still Clans Aladin cup victory to boost the Scots. I predict a 5-4 win for the Giants. 7pm f/o

Finally, Fife Flyers start the season with Coventry Blaze in town! Blaze are a strong looking side, with the likes of Jeremy Tendler, Steven Goertzen and big Brian Stewart in goal. Flyers are mostly unchanged, so know each other pretty well. I predict a 3-2 shootout win for the Flyers. 7:30pm f/o, due to a delay.

Enjoy the games folks! Roundup later. :)
