BREAKING- On Sunday night, the Dundee Stars won the Gardiner conference (mini 5 team division) after clinching the conference top spot after a 3-1 win over the Braehead Clan, the same score that clinched the league title for Belfast! It is Stars first silverware since joining the top flight and gets them a play-off spot! They will now be second seed joining Belfast, Nottingham and Sheffield so far.
Stars celebrate best ever season with 3-1 win over clan...
Dundee Stars biggest game of the season for their first silverware was under-way with a bang. Both teams had pressure in the first period but no score was on the board at the first break. Both goaltenders stood tall!
The second however, was different. Soon to be champions Stars got first net-finder as James Isaacs made it 1-0. Clan weren't going to let it double though as a few minutes later, Ed Mcgrane tied it 1-1.
Stars still told their pressure though as Billy Bargon re-gained the lead to set Stars on their way to inaugural success!
The third was a tense one but 6:59 after the break, Nikita Kashirsky sealed the championship for Stars best
ever season! It was a long and nervy final minute but some fantastic plays from the stars and good saves from goalie Dan Bakala assured the celebrations. Highlights and celebrations here:
