Alec Martinez puts Kings to the final! Face Rangers Wednesday for game 1

BREAKING- In 2013, game seven between Chicago Blackhawks and Los Angeles Kings saw Patrick Kane seal the Western Conference championship in style with a 4-3 overtime victory. They went on for a shock Stanley Cup win against Boston Bruins in 6 games! The two met again this year and once again went to overtime in game 7, played in the same building. At the time of last years playoffs, Kings hearts were broken by the overtime goal and thoughts were they'd never get that victory back. Last night however, the golden opportunity came to return the favour, and it came even bigger than they may of planned!

Within 10 minutes, Blackhawks made it look like a repeat of 2013 taking a 2-0 lead. The past was coming back to haunt LA for the players that were there last year though, the newbies knew what it must of felt like, and didn't want that same experience of the childhood dream being crushed. Kings quickly made it 2-2 before Hawks regained the lead and were in full control of this game with LA plan of revenge not looking easy. Put it this way: it was going to be a long night!

Despite it being all square again, late on in the second period, Chicago had a one goal lead going to the final stanza. A late game tying goal would sent this game to overtime, but with 5 seconds left, Kings plan of revenge, could of been turned into an ever bigger upset than last time around. As Hawks had a stunning attack, the place going wild, they had a massive game changing shot, which could of made history, but Los Angeles goaltender Jonathan Quick pulled off a stunning save.

An incredible six minutes of overtime saw Kings get into the final with Rangers. Alec Martinez tipped in to win the Western Conference championship and send Los Angeles into wild celebrations. Next stop, the Stanley cup final!
