Ka pow...Slava Voynov about to fire LA Kings first goal in, Saturday night 24th May The headline says it all, the NHL playoffs are on fire right now! The four teams left (NYR, MTL,CHI AND LAK) are playing to their strengths to reach the final. From the early season in October to the playoffs in April to now, its got better every single minute! And last nights game between Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks proved just that. An early goal from Hawks captain Jonathan Towes was quickly tied up by Slava Voynov (pictured above). Only for Toews to score again a few minutes later and lead Hawks 2-1 after the first period. Kings had better ideas in the second though, banging two in to lead 3-2 at the second intermission with goals in the second coming from Jeff Carter and Tyler Toffoli. In the third, it was sealed as Drew Doughty made it three without reply to take the win in spite of Hawks pulling goalie Corey Crawford late on in the game. The extra attacker paid off with three seconds left, Patrick Sharp tipping in but it was simply not enough. Kings taking the series lead at 2-1!
